“Sustainable consumption and production is about promoting resource and energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all. Its implementation helps to achieve overall development plans, reduce future economic, environmental and social costs, strengthen economic competitiveness and reduce poverty.”
In order to obtain this goal, awareness is key. Again, as artists are often translating complex situations in order to make them accessible, their work concerning sustainable consumption and production can be the means in a search for transformation. Additionally, art projects show alternative options in achieving responsible consumption on top of already existing solutions. Often these alternative options are found in close collaboration with those whom it concerns so that the eventual implementation is realistic and effective.
